How did Lisa Marie Presley die?
How did Lisa Marie Presley die? According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, Lisa Marie Presley died after a suspected cardiac arrest due to a “small-bowel obstruction” that was caused by scar tissue developed years ago after bariatric surgical procedures.
According to an autopsy report published in the New York Times on January 12, 2023, Presley complained of severe abdominal discomfort. She was taken to the hospital after she became unresponsive and went into cardiac arrhythmia. Presley died in that afternoon. She was also sober for “the past few years” despite a drug-abuse history.

“She was passionate, strong and loving. She was the best woman I’ve ever met.” Please respect our privacy while we deal with this tragic loss. We appreciate your love and prayers. There will be no more comment at this time.” LMP is just weeks away from her 55th Birthday on February 1, 2023.
According to TMZ EMTs were dispatched to Lisa Marie’s Calabasas home on January 12th. According to the outlet, Lisa Marie was found unresponsive by her housekeeper in her bedroom. Her ex-husband Danny Keough performed CPR on her until paramedics arrived.
A 911 call obtained by The New York Post shows that Lisa Marie’s maid called the dispatchers frantically, and Danny received the phone not long after. The man who answered the phone said, “Hello.” The 911 operator said, “Sir listen, paramedics are already on their way.” Before asking the ambulance if it needed any information to reach the house, the operator told him, “Sir. Listen, paramedics have already arrived.” He said, “There’s a gate that’s in the neighborhood but they will let them through.” Lisa Marie and Danny were living together after getting married in 1988, and then separating six years later.
They had two children, Riley in 1989 and Benjamin in 1992. In May 1994, they called it quits but remained close. In an interview in 2015 with People, she described her relationship with Keough as “like brother and sister”. This is a great message for people to hear: You don’t need to be together to treat your children badly. You can be civilized. I knew that Danny would be someone with whom I could connect for the rest my life when I was old enough to have children with him. I knew he’d be a good dad.”
Lisa Marie’s death was attributed to her going into “full-arrest” on the day she died. She had at least one dose of epinephrine given to her at the scene to help her get her pulse back. Epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) is commonly used to treat life-threatening conditions like cardiac arrest, asthma attacks, and allergic reactions.
The doctors also performed CPR on her and were able regain her heartbeat before taking her to the emergency room. TMZ obtained photos of Priscilla’s arrival at the hospital earlier that afternoon to be with her daughter. The outlet reported that Lisa’s family had ordered a “Do Not Resuscitate” order because she was brain dead when she arrived at the hospital. Lisa Marie was declared dead after suffering a second heart attack.
Sarah Ardalani told CNN on January 14, 2023 that “Presley’s cause of death had been deferred.” She explained, “Deferred is when, after an autopsy has not determined a cause of the death and the medical examiner requests more investigation, including additional studies.” The doctor will then re-evaluate the case and determine the cause of death once the results are in.
Family sources revealed to TMZ on January 30, 2023 that Lisa Marie had relapsed in her opioid addiction and was undergoing a drastic weight loss regimen during the months before her death. She “wanted look her best” for Elvis to be celebrated at the award shows.
